Most people come to Pai by bus from Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station 2 which is a 3 hour trip by minibus. The minibus cost is 150 baht per person (14 passenger spacious vans) and tickets can be bought the day before or the day of the trip. Bicycles cost an extra 100 baht. The road near Pai is winding and up and down hills a lot. Pai bus station is at grid code FZ167 on this map HERE.

Pai Transport - amazingly there are no tuk tuks, songtaew buses or regular taxis operating in Pai but motorbike taxis are available across the street from the bus station. The drivers sometimes wear yellow vests. Bicycles and motorcycles can be rented at several places in Pai.
