Phia La Wind Power Project info by Hobo Maps - Go to Wind Power Projects Page - - - HOME
The Phia La (Phila) Wind Power Project is planned to be located in Xaychamphone & Khamkeut Districts of Bolikhamxay Province in Lao PDR, not far from the Vietnam border.
The general location of the project is somewhere in these two districts but we don't know exactly where.

The project is to have capacity to produce 500 MW output.
Total capital cost of the project is estimated at $1,151 million USD and will operate under a concession period of 25 years.
As of mid 2026 we aren't sure if construction has started yet or if the project is progressing at all.
The project has plans to sell and export its power output to Vietnam with transmission into the 500 kV Nam Cam substation in Nghe An Province. But not sure if that station is completed or if there will be available transmission absorbtion capacity to take the output from the Phia La project in the near future. In 2026 very little extra transmission capacity in that area was available after the Truong Son project went online in 2025.
Phia La Wind Power project is located in the mid area of map below.
