The Kalong Wind Power Project is located in Xaychamphon District of Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR not far from Ban Kalong and the Kalong river and close to the Vietnam border.
The general location of the project is estimated at coordinates 18°35'12.1"N 105°01'56.3"E (18.586694, 105.032306) as seen in image below. Wind power projects have towers spread out over a large area and providing precise location coordinates for them or for the project in general is not practical.
Kalong Wind Power project is planned to have a capacity of 750 MW with investment capital of $ 822 million USD and a concession period of 25 years.
The project seems to be near Lak Sao town and not far from the completed and operating Truong Son Wind Power project.
As of year 2026 we aren't sure if construction has started yet. Also unsure if the area in Vietnam close to the project has available transmission absorption capacity to take the output from the Kalong project in the near future. Very little absorption capacity there was available after the Truong Son project went online and began exporting power in 2025.Kalong Wind Power project is located in mid area of map below.
