The trail shown in the bottom picture (taken 2009) just above this text now has mature pine trees on both sides of it (in 2012) which makes it look quite different than you see here. The older pictures of jars on this web page in many cases show the jars better than more recent pictures since the condition of jars at the PDJ continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate, mostly due to human activities.
